Smile Greetings from Worcestershire UK

Name Mark, nic Scoobie - I am an IT manager in his 50s who has a passion for classic cars but unfortunately without the bottomless wallet to match so buying a Jag last week that needs work was somewhat of a gamble, (Lets hope me and the Jag survive the journey - LOL).
Car is a 140k '99 reg 2000 model 4.0 XK8 Cabriolet MOT failure that the owner decided not to spend any more money on, faults being corrosion near the rear suspension, (arches and no doubt a million other places), engine misfire, air bag light, rusty brake pipe and bust off side rear light.
Have already fixed the misfire using diags JTIS and a second hand coil pack, research suggests AB warning light may be wiring under drivers seat but my main concern is what appears to be rot where the rear suspension joins either side towards the front.
Looks like i may need to get it up on axle stands, drop rear suspension completely and get a mobile welder in.
Any pointers to any articles covering this? I've looked but cant find any.

Thanks - Scoobie

Hello, Mark,
You do seem to have a project there! It should certainly give one pause to find the suspension is falling out from under one's car! But what a pretty car!

Welcome from ElinorB.

You're welcome Mark, presumably you've looked in the "how to" poictorial and video section for the XK8?

Probably one of, if not the best section on the site, with just tons & tons of good info
