Smile GWS 2007 XKR 78000 miles

New Functional Jaguar Owner, Triple Black, bought used and still have a few quirks to work out. 30 years ago I purchased a 1970 XKE 2+2 that needed restoration, still have it, now needs Full Restoration. Too many projects so little time. Just purchased the XKR as fullfilment of dream and will be my "retirement" car. I will be selling the XKE and a 1960 MGA Coupe (also needs full restoration) to get my budget back in order.

Welcome to the forum GWS,

Shame to sell the XKE and the MGA but you have to be practical.

Follow this link XK / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK/XKR section for help and advice.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You might also want to visit the Southwest US Region section https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...z-tx-nm-ok-37/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome GWS,

Sounds like you have a plan in mind, and are well on your way to fulfillment. There's nothing wrong in trading away cars that need work for cars that don't, if you've made up your mind you'd rather enjoy your cars from the top-side, rather than spending your free time beneath.

That's a beautiful car you have there.

I sold the old XKE and the MGA. Just put complete Brakes on the rear of my XKR. Had to wait a week over Thanksgiving for the left caliper to get to me. Interesting that someone ignored the rear brakes until they required new calipers as well as rotors and pads. The front brakes still have plenty of pad but I don't like the rotors current state so they are next on the repair list.

That's been some serious abuse to wreck the rear calipers.

At least you'll end up with reliable brakes all round which should need nothing more than pads for some time to come.
