Hello!
I've just joined because I recently purchased a 1957 mk iii (as it was listed in the ad but I think it's actually supposed to be a mk viii). I also have a 1980 mgb and joined the mg forums which has been EXTREMELY helpful so I'm sure this will be the same way. My husband has 2 - 1957 chevy belairs and a 1955 international harvester, so we're both into old classic cars - although mine are better.
While working on my MG, I kept reading that a lot of people use Jag parts on MGs. Since they're both British vehicles, I'm assuming that Jaguar has Lucas wiring aka POD wiring. After I bring my car home and commune with it to see what it wants to be (modern sleeper or classic restoration), I'll start working on it.
Anyone know where I can find a parts catalog and service/shop manual?

Welcome to the forum peep1000,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Yes - it would be a Mark VIII from 1957.
Follow this link Mark V - X 420G - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the Mk V - Mk X forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.

Of course theyre better. How could they be otherwise? Jaguar themselves has a very nice online parts listing, although they dont have so much available. XKs Unlimited is who I usually end up using and I always check with SNG Barrats. these 2 will both send you nice parts catalogs. Good luck!
