Hey all, I recently purchased an Old English white 1974 Jaguar XJ6 with red interior. It has a 350 Chevy small block engine and TH350 Chevy transmission. I’m based in San Rafael, CA.
The car has quite a photographed recorded history from the previous two owners (Instagram, YouTube, etc) and came with a bunch of service records, but I’m sorting through many gremlins and tacking lots of deferred maintenance. So far this site has been incredibly helpful, so thank you all!
Great photo. Sitting a bit low at the back/high at the front. You must be carrying a lot of weight in the luggage compartment?
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Appreciate the link to the regional section, I hadn’t seen that before and I look forward to connecting with local Jaguar owners.
As to the car’s stance, it is indeed a bit high in the front, I suspect largely due to the engine and transmission being lighter than stock. I’ve got some lower & stiffer King springs on order from Australia and while I’m getting into the front suspension I’m also putting in some GAZ adjustable shocks and a 7/8” sway bar from an XJS, all in an effort to get the front to plant a little better in the twisties. I anticipate needing to redo the rear suspension once that’s all in, but going to see how it feels first.
So many new projects to tackle, and such a fun car to work on.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Classic Jaguar Xj6!
Deferred Maintenance is Such a crime against these cars, and in fact Any car.
So many little things are let go, it's like they Breed until the car becomes nearly undriveable (mine was the same).
But what fun to get it all sorted and take if for a Real Drive.
I'll look for you over in our Xj6 Series section.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
