Hello from Central PA
My name is Clyde and I have two Jags at the moment, a 1985 XJ-S coupe with 54,000 miles that we purchansed in 2006, and a 1998 XJ8 with 116,000 miles that we purchased this year. We have several other cars in the fleet including a 2002 Subaru WRX, 1993 Mazda Miata, and a 1995 Mercedes wagon.
They are all on the road, but obviously several are toys. My auto enthusiast days date back to the 1960s and include mostly English and German cars, the most memorable being a BRG AH 3000 and an Irish Green Porsche 912. The 1985 XJ-S is our first Jaguar and quite an eye opener. Not many cars offer the combination of ride and handling along with effortless cruising speed. We bought the XJ8 hoping to duplicate those characteristics in a 4 door sedan, and it more than meets the challenge.
I generally do my own wrenching and have found this forum and its search function to be a vaulable tool. I also lurk on the Mercedes W-124, Subaru WRX and Miata forums and contribute when I can.
I am sure my time spent here both learning and contributing will be time well spent.
