Hello from the Colorado Rockies
Last Saturday I bought my lovely wife a 2006 Super V8 with 21,000 original miles for her birthday. It's like a brand new car. Silver with 2 tone leather. Looks blue in the sunlight, the silver is so shiny it's hard to tell it apart from the chrome. It drives like a dream. We flew out to Palm Springs where I bought it sight unseen over the internet (I still cannot believe I did that) after browsing nationwide Jag ads for about a year and driving and rejecting quite a few cars. I have fun stories about things like the XKR we drove that leaked hydraulic fluid all over us from the convertible top, etc, etc, but we ended up with a real beauty. Hopefully it'll last.
This is her third Jag. She previously had an 96(?) XJ6, which we traded in on a 2001 XJ8, which died a sudden and heartbreaking death when it threw it's timing chain. She then went into a Range Rover (we live at 8100 feet and a RWD drive car as a daily driver was not practical). I was very happy to be able to get her back into her dream car, which I also happen to love, so it's all good.
Hopefully my questions here won't be too stupid. First step is to get some kind of aux input installed. I'm searching for the place to tap into the FM antenna, no luck yet...... In the XJ8 I hijacked the CD changer - that doesn't seem possible with this model. Dang.
