Hello from Dallas - prospective owner doing research!

Hi guys,
Title pretty much says it all. Looking to join the club. I'm in Dallas, and I've looked at several of the models from the different facelift generations. I'm doing my research right now and seeing vehicles in person to figure out what my tolerances are for mileage, styling, performance, price, and imperfections.
So far I've looked at some cheap high mileage ones with a few flaws here and there that I've tossed out. I've looked at some newer model ones that were basically flawless and fell in love. And I looked at an XKR from 2009 and 2010 today (though only the 2009 was available for driving as the 2010 was the shop owner's and he wasn't in) so I've been a bit all over the place.
I feel like the 5.0L base engine is more than enough power at 385, but I prefer the sound of the XKR exhaust - I've briefly looked into replacing the exhaust with the XKR's as some of the other posts have talked about that operation too, and I may be interested in that. I really like the hood vents for the XKRs and I'd love to know about replacing the stock XK hood with the XKR hood - basically I'd like an XK with XKR styling, haha.
I'm trying to decide on colors - I really like the white ones, especially with the cream tan interior and light wood. I really like the emerald fire green, but I've only seen one for sale out of state. I also appreciate the bright racing red. Until I saw the 2010 XKR today, I didn't really have much interest in the black color, but on that car, with black gloss rims, it looks very good too.
If there are any owners here in Dallas, Addison, Plano, Frisco, or Arlington who would like to show off their car or weigh in on local options for purchase, I'd be happy to hear from you!
Thanks

Welcome to the forum resident_fng,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Make a shortlist of 'must haves' and 'desireables' then be prepared to travel to find a good matching used Jaguar.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/ to the X150 forum for help, advice and information.
I can see you've already found the US Southwest Region so there's no need for a link to it from me.
Good luck finding your ideal specification and enjoy the forums.
Graham

Thanks for the reply and invite.
I'm having a very hard time figuring out exactly what my "must haves" are. At this point, I know I definitely want one of the cars, but I'm not yet sure what's a "must have". I discovered today that I'm very picky about the condition of the interior and exterior, much more so than other used vehicles. Little rock chips, door dings, scrapes inside, etc. are all pretty much deal breakers for me, even if the car is in otherwise stellar condition and even if it's an XKR vs. an XK in the same price range. :-/
What's the point of owning a beautiful exclusive vehicle like this if it's not in show-ready shape? I'm trying to reconcile that egotistical desire with the realization that that means a much higher car cost with perhaps less power/features to get a newer one; how many extra thousands will it cost me to avoid rock chips and tiny door dings? That's where I'm at right now. #firstworldproblems and all that...
