Hey guys! I am 24 and until recently lived in a city with lots of public transit. I've been sharing cars and driving for a few years now, but haven't even thought about buying until now... which has led me here, to one of the only brands I actually want to spend money on. I would love some general direction for learning about the brand and where I should ask about introductory jags (read: least financial havoc).
My current hobbies involve drooling over the XE and then remembering I can't afford it.

Welcome to the forum Dao,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The best advice when buying any Jaguar is to go for one with a full service and maintenance history. Any gaps should be treated with suspicion. Parts are expensive and should be factored into the price. As a general rule the later the year for any model run is better due to developments and improvements during the production run but an idiot can ruin a car in a few thousand miles whereas a careful owner can keep one good as new for a very long time. Check out the seller as well as the vehicle!
You'll find FAQ's at the top of each of the model tech forums. These will show you the regular issues with each of them.
I can see you are in the USA but can't tell which State. You could get a lot of help and useful advice from other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
