Hello, Amira,
Almost any time one buys a used car, and especially a used Jaguar, one can almost bet the purchase cost is only a down payment.
That;s because there is Always a reason (maybe several reasons) why someone is getting rid of it.
Your wife has excellent taste in what she drives.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome!

I am a self taught mechanic as well (mostly on the weekends) and started working on cars when I was 13 yrs old. The Jag is a different beast and this forum will help you immensely. Most of my work has been with earlier model domestic (US) cars. I actually bought the Jag to expand my knowledge and work on something a little different. Plus I love the lines of the XKR. In any event, make sure to ask lots of questions and share your experiences. These cars are beautiful and performers. Sometime I think they get a bad rap, but everyone seems to turn their head when one pulls into the lot.
