Default Hello everybody

Hello everybody, name is Daniel, just turned 26, and I'm from Canada.... I'm Polish by heritage but living in Canada. Bought a 2002 Jaguar X-type 3.0 in May as a complete write off from an Insurance auction to rebuild and make it a project for myself. Not planning to rush it, nor plan to finish it right away, but I'm hopping to have it at least on the road for the 2011 summer.
Currently I drive a 1998 BMW M3 , which I might be hated for, but hey, its my daily beater while I work on my Jag as a project/summer car.

So that's my story, hopefully I'll be able to post pictures soon... so I can show you my project.

Thank you guys for a nice welcome, I totally understand everybody has their thing.... I respect that. I don't pick sides, I like to be neutral. I like all types of cars, but to be quite honest with you I choose the Jag X type as my project because i wanted to brake out from the pack of stereotypes.
Here she is, the day I've got her, don't worry she is on the road to resurrection:

My first challenge was to tackle the bumper that was in pieces, I wanted to put it together because I didn't want to buy a new one and start cutting it to make it a bit custom/tastefully different.

so I drilled holes around the cracks, zipped tied it together to get the shape, pastic weld it, to make the crack stonger I put JB weld on the inside...

I know you guys might think I'm cheap and that I don't want to spend money on stuff, but money is not the issue here... I want to redo the bumper to still have the stock, sleek look but at the same time be a bit different. Its hard to explain what I want to do, but in my head I know it will look good. Something different then all the Arden Spoiler I see....Don't get me wrong they look amazing on X types, but I want to make this one my own.

Welcome Dan. That's quite the project you've under taken. What's your back ground? Auto body, mechanical work?

Actually I work as a Private Investigator, no joke, very serious.... but my hobby is to work on cars. Been working on them ever since I could hold a wrench, my cousin has a body shop so he lets me work on my cars in his shop as long as I help him with his "client's" cars... so its a fair trade I think.

So no background, just whatever I learned while I watched my uncle, dad, my cousin and of course google images.
I say watch because I have been diagnosed with dyslexia so its hard for me to understand some of the technical terms in books, manuals or even some diy's on forums. So its "hand's on" learning...that I try to master.

You really should post this project up over in the X Type section (with pics of course), we like a good project.

One of my nephews has the same condition, don't worry about it.

If you get stuck with technical terms, send me a Private Message and I will try to help you out.

Of course it could be that I don't have a clue either (thought I'd better get that in before the guys jump on me
