I joined yesterday. I've always liked Jags but have been scared/intimidated by their seemingly contorted engineering, their complexity and questionable reliability. I do however have a British car background so now that the opportunity to purchase a 2000 XK8 has presented itself I feel compelled to consider buying it. The car has some issues and because I am not well versed in modern vehicle electronics I am researching this forum for help in my decision. Thanks for presenting such a helpful and informative research tool!

Hello, Chris,
It's always a good idea to know what you're getting into with Any used car. There's always a reason someone gets rid of their car, usually more than one. Knowing beforehand makes the Journey much less stressful and allows you to make informed choices.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Chris,
I know you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum with questions about this potential purchase so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
