Default Hello Everyone!

Hello All!

I've been a lurker on these forums for the past year and finally decided to make an account. I'm from Indiana, USA and I've been a car guy for years who recently got into Jags earlier this year. As you can probably tell by the username, I'm a big VW guy, but once I discovered the the driving experience and refinement of Jaguars, I got hooked!

I currently own two Jaguars with the first one being a 2003 S-Type R which I bought in pristine condition with just over 100k miles with a snapped input shaft on the transmission. I was inspired to buy this after finding a wrecked S-Type R in a local junkyard and pulling it's engine and transmission for a college automotive club project.

My second Jaguar, a 2006 XJR, was a very recent purchase as I was looking for a cheap, running project that would allow me to practice basic bodywork and other skills on a vehicle that isn't in near-perfect, pristine condition like my S-Type R. Because of the known rust issues with the S-Type R, I felt that a higher-mileage, XJR would make a great candidate for a winter daily in our midwest winters.

My non-Jaguars consist of a 1993 VW Corrado VR6 (served as my first proper project car which I learned many wrenching skills with), 1997 VW Jetta GLS 2.0 (my first car and has been in the family since new), and 2007 Mazda RX-8 (my fun rotary-powered autocross car which will be wrapped to serve as an advertising car for a business venture).

Happy to be a part of these forums officially, and you'll be seeing a thread about my 2006 XJR project in the X350 section soon, because it needs a lot of TLC and I hope to document the whole process!

Welcome to the forums VR6Rado,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the S-Type and X350 forums so there's no need for links to them from me. The 'HOW TO' threads at the top of each are a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
Congratulations on finally seeing the light of Jaguars! LOL
College project cars, eh? I still fondly remember my college project car, an Elderly Chrysler that burned oil like a Liberian tanker and had a blown transmission. Only moved in R and 1. In D it screamed like a banshee.
What a great place to learn how to wrench.
Good times.
Make the most of them, I say!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
