Hello everyone!
Great to be back in a Jaguar and back here! This is the best site for Jaguar enthusists and admirers on the web.
My name to Tom, live in the far west suburbs in Illinois..USA
Had a 90 Jagaur Sov, sj6. Sold it 5 years or so ago..never quite got the cat out of my system...call it "cat scratch fever"
Well, the right opportunity finally presented itself. I picked up a 2001 Vaden Plas Jaguar from California- born and raised there. Used to be owned by a real estate lady who bought it in 06.
She really keep the kitty up nicely.
It's anthicite with Cashmere leather interior that is in fantastic shape. (she had custom seat covers made when she bought the car)
Fallin headliner- just like my 90 had. LOL
Quick list of work she had done since owned:
Tensioners, Pri & Sec, replaced at 65k back in 07
Trans replaced in 08 @ 75k
New cooling hoses in Jan 10
She really keep this baby nice! I couldn't be happier to have it..
It has 97k miles on it now and I just got it last Friday after a long ride from the west coast.
Though I don't consider myself a total newbie but it is Good to be back!!

Welcome Tom,
Brings back memories groing up on the "southside" then onto the west side too - Naperville, Oswego...then something came over me and I headed out to the REAL West....Where cactus grow...and scorpians live...Yum!
Sounds like a beauty you have there. Love the color, my favorite.

Yes, I hope I got lucky..though I feel she really cared about the care. She did the 60k checkup and that's about when she did the tensioners..
I am amazed the driver's seat is in such good shape! When i was looking that was a glaring bad spot in many I looked at.
Yes, I was waiting for black..er..near black..
I picked it up for just under 6k...I couldn't pass it up...I've been looking for a while..and just about to gave up..then...boom..she showed up..i am referring to a car, not a woman. lol
I plan on owning it for a long time..I am hopeful she'll be good to me.
Thanks and I look forward to contributing as much as I can here..at the very least some bad humor.

Hello Tom:
Gotta love those well kept woman owned cars. My XJS drop head was a one owner car with 55000 miles when I bought it from he 64 year old lady who was selling it.
It is the 3rd nicest jag I have ever owned. That is a very tight race, the nicest was an '88 XJ12 I purchased new, the second nicest was another one owner '85 XJ12 purchased from an older Gent with no wife and no kids, and who walked to work at his office every day...anyway I am digressing greatly here arent I?
Cheers and welcome!
