Finally I bought Jaguar XJR V8 Supercharged in Japan and arrived to my country 2 weeks ago. I live in Tbilisi, Georgia.
I faced one big problem, bought a car with model year of 2003, but when I wanted to make customs clearance of my car, the custums' officers couldn't find exact date of production of my car via it's VIN number. The only site showed some datas is www.vin-decorder.com, but it doesn't shows correct datas. My VIN is SAJJPALF4CR850677, this site shows that my car is 1998 model. Than I checked on the same site other XJR-s VIN-s, and on all of them shows that they are on 1998 models. My friend have 1996 model XJR and this VIN-decoder.com shows 1998 model on that car also.
So please help me and give me the site address or vin decoding instruction, in order to proof the customs that my car is not 1998 model and it's newer.
My VIN is: SAJJPALF4CR850677
Thank you in advance

Welcome to the forum Archil,
Some other members in Australia who have imported used Jaguars from Japan have had a similar problem validating the VIN. The OnLine VIN Decoder sites don't recognise the numbers.
JDHT ( http://www.jaguarheritage.org/Herita...uspension.aspx ) may be able to supply the build sheet for your vehicle with Date of Manufacture.
Back to the forum. Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help and advice.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Hope you can easily get the VIN proof. Enjoy the forum.
Graham
