Hello from first time Jag owner in Liverpool, UK.
Hello everybody,
I'm Mike. A 28 year old Mechanical engineer from Liverpool in the UK. I'm a life-long car and motorsports enthusiast and could finally afford to drive in 2008. Since a £400 Ford Fiesta with £4000/year insurance I have had a mixture of cars.
Since November 2015 I have been a proud owner of a 2003 Jaguar XJ Super V8. This is my first Jaguar - certainly not the first one I have wanted. It was originally registered at Jaguar Wimbledon to somebody clearly more wealthy than myself. They seem to have ticked every option box I can think of.
It caught my eye with the Jaguar Racing Green paint and 20" Sepang wheels. I think accounting for inflation it cost approximately £115k in today's money. I paid £6250 which is at the low end of the market here but I know I could have pushed to pay less.
Within two weeks of ownership I took it on a weekend blast to Vienna and Budapest for a quick Christmas market stop and some Autobahn storming. Left work Friday afternoon, picked up my girlfriend, cruised effortlessly up to 155mph and returned to work on Monday morning like nothing had happened. No stops were made other than to fill the tank up and at the destinations. I was more comfortable than sat at home!
I currently have it declared off road whilst I make use of my track car and get some jobs done. These include a couple of suspension bushes, putting some temporary wheels on whilst I refurbish the Sepangs, bad earth point repairs, headlight lens restoration and a general clean and service. Long term I have a more extensive job list including some basic mods to get it how I'd like it.
My girlfriend has only recently passed her driving test and drives a 60hp Kia Picanto. Even my stripped out track car is considerably slower than the XJ so I'm really looking forwards to getting it running nicely and wafting about. I have a couple of questions already so I thought I may as well join a forum and say hello.
I'll post a couple of pictures when I'm not on my phone.

Thanks everybody.
Insurance isn't anywhere nearly as silly as when I first passed my test. Still one of the many things to consider when looking at where to buy my first house though.
At 14 years old It's slightly scabby up close in the common areas so might not be a gem by some people's standards but to me it is still nearly the most car I can get for the money. I'll be happy with it once I've ticked off some more of the jobs I know need doing.
Still on my phone so not sure if this is the preferred way of sharing photos but here are a couple from the advert and from stopping near my brother's house to show him. Don't have any good photos of it yet...

Mike,
It's a lot of car for the money.
