Hello from GA!
I'll be honest. I never envisioned owning a Jag. But then I discovered Top Gear and saw Captain Slow's review of the "new" XF back in 2008. I was seduced -- the Aston-esq rear end, muscular bulges in the bonnet, and of course the stunning interior.
I immediately went to the Jag dealership and took one for a spin, but considering my income at the time and the lack of pre-owned XF's, it wasn't meant to be. Not on that day anyway. However, the booklet sat on my kitchen table for years. I *KNEW* I'd have one someday. I kept an eye on pricing and even test drove the XF a couple times over the intervening years, but the timing just wasn't right.
And a week ago, it happened -- I became the proud (and nervous) owner of a Metallic Black 2011 XFR.
She seems to be in pretty darn good shape. There are a couple rattles -- one in the dash and one in the instrument cluster near the moon roof, as well as a storage compartment in the center console that needs a new release spring, but those should all be covered under the remaining warranty.
I just hope I made the right choice. I read about the repair bills some folks have had and it's cause for concern. Time will tell. Right now, I'm enjoying her though it's quite the change from a sports car!
