Default Hello from Germany

Hello everyone,

I´m Thomas and I live pretty close to Frankfurt/Germany. Since some weeks I own a 2002 XKR X100, limited edition.
The Jag has been delivered to Florida in 2002 and after 2 changes of owners it got imported from Massachusetts to Germany last year.

The color of the car is anthracite; it is equipped with BBS Montreal, Recaro seats, Brembo brakes and a lot of nice accessories more.

Of course does the 18 years old car have some signs of usage. It is my plan to fix all optical and technical lacks any time soon. Actually all oils and liquids become replaced, including gaerbox flushing.

Since the Jag poached most of its lifetime in the US it is a must to get member of an US forum. Even because I´m interested to learn more about the limited edition "XKR 100" that has been delivered mainly to the US.

I would appreciate it to have technical but also personal communication with nice members here in the forum.

Have always safe trips with your Jags.

Greetings from Germany.

Thomas

Thomas,

The XKR 100 model was introduced in 2001 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sir William Lyons, the founder of Jaguar. The edition was limited to 500 Worldwide in both Coupe and Convertible. The majority went to the USA with 160 being sold in the UK. All were finished in Anthractite Black, black trim, appropriate badging and sill tread plates.

Thanks for the welcome greetings.
Thank you Graham for the summary. I‘ve been aware about that but I‘m still interested in all information especially about differences in technique and design.
Actually I‘m wondering about the badge of the bonnet. As far as I know all XKR—100 should have a black/white badge containing the logo „XKR 100“. My Jag has a red/black badge with the logo „supercharged“. Does anybody know whether all XKR100 have been delivered only with the XKR logo or with the supercharged logo as well? I guess that the original badge got lost or stolen and has been replaced by a standard badge.
Does anybody know whether the badge is still available in the US? In Europe it is not available anymore.
The part no is HXG5900AA and it looks like the badge on the picture.

Thanks, Thomas

The Limited Edition badges are very attractive to "collectors". Several members with these report having them stolen from the car. I had an XK8 4.2-S Final Series which was another uniquely badged edition but was lucky never to lose it.

Jaguar are showing HXG5900AA as "No Longer Available" and I was very surprised to find this parts supplier listing it:

Expensive but if they do actually have one available, it could be the only place you will obtain it.

Graham

thanks again for your support.
I contacted Jaguar Hermann several days ago and got the answer: part no longer available. The link to the badge is an old one, not forgotten by Google.
