Default Hello from Hertfordshire UK

After many years looking for a Mk 1 3.4 in the UK (but all very rusty) I found a solid car in Canada with apparently 57k miles from new; manual/overdrive in British Racing Green with cinamon interior. The car still has its original paint with various touch up's here and there. Some of the paint has worn away down to the undercoat.

My original intention was to nut and bolt restore the car, but with a solid body I'm now contemplating leaving the paint work but restore it mechanically throughout along with the interior so I can get to use the car and not become too precious with worrying about an expensive paint job.

That is exactly what I have done with my S1 XJ6. Daily driver. ....I did do a little paint touch up but nothing serious. But mechanically 100% sorted.

Hello,
Your plan sounds like a Great idea!
Too many of these cars become Garage Queens and are left to sit and rot, never again seeing the open road. These cars were built to be Driven!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
