Welcome to the forum QVHK,
Manual spec is certainly rare.
Follow this link XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Good luck with your search for the right vehicle.
Enjoy the forum.
Graham

Well, the virus has started to work. Wife loves the style and ride of a royal saloon so we bought a black cat - 2005 XJ6 3.0 LWB Executive, with only 29500 Km on the clock (verified), four new tires, 10 months road tax, and a near new interior.
Earlier on, was thinking of acquiring an XJR 4.0 X300 Supercharged with a unique colour of the year 1995 "rose bronze metallic", which has been trying to find a new home almost for a year. Bought the XJ6 already but saw the XJR still in the market with an impossibly low, new price. It had 171,000 km on the clock which is rather high for a car in Hong Kong but this XJR was maintained at the dealer for the last 17 years, only left idle in the past 9 months by the new owner. Learned about the special background of the X300 here and found a donor 290 gearbox in eBay, and won the bid! So the idea of a conversion project crossed the mind, and am now working to also adopt the XJR. This potential new member is going to be fun!

Thanks, Kyu. Yeh, but I think overseas forums well patronized by DIY enthusiasts and supported by voluntary experts in various fields have helped me greatly in making wise decision in selecting worth keeping gems of the era, and keeping my costs of ownership down in their maintenance like sourcing hard-to-find parts, and improvements that help with performance and reducing fuel costs. I have also convinced my second half that motoring and projects are essential part of my work life balance. The stately X350 is her pick so she can't complain she has no part! Occasionally, my 164 and CE attracted strange admirers in the streets, and she understands why. The X300 may be next
