Hello from the icy norths of Sweden
My name's Richie and I'm an addict.
I've loved Jaguars since a school trip to London in the 80s. The city was full of beautiful XJs and then and there I knew I would one day have one. Atleast one.
Last year, the dream finally came true when I got an X-Type, a sport model from 2001. While the four-wheel drive was very fun in the winter, the car was a bit small (I'm 185cm tall and way too big across, plus there's five in the family) so we sold it for a toy car (a Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor) in addition to the SAAB 9-5 SC we already had.
But, the hunger kept tugging at me when I had a taste of veneer and leather.
This summer, a Platinum silver 2005 Jaguar Super V8 with 12500km on the clock showed up at a local dealer. We traded the SAAB in and oh my (insert personal deity here) how this thing moves.
It's like a rocket-powered ballet dancer. I can leave M3s and S4s behind at red lights without making a sound, I just float away from them like a UFO on acid.
They show up as toys in my rear view mirror and the world turns into a blur while the G force pull my cheeks back towards my neck, exaggerating my already big grin.
Kompressor! Accept no substitutes.

Welcome to the forum Richie,
Excellent Intro. Doesn't leave any room for doubt about your enjoyment of the XJ.
I know you've already found your way to the X350 section so no need for a link. Looks like Cameron has got you on the way to sorting out the Italian speaking car!
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the Europe Region section by following this link Europe - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in mainland Europe.
Enjoy the forum.
