Smile Hello Jaguar Forums!!

I live in IL, and own a 2002 Type S 4.0, blk on blk with sport package. This car was my mothers FLA car until she passed away. It only has 58,500 miles on it and is like a time capsule when you get into it. It was always in the garage and never ever was allowed to get dirty! Visually it is 100%, unfortunately mechanically it is becoming a money pit. after getting a $14,000 repair estimate from the dealer who wanted to replace essential the whole suspension due to dry rot I quickly ran to a specialty shop that said the same thing. After spending $2,000 on upper and lower ball joints and control arms, I am faced with what I think is a bad rack and pinion. Will find out tomorrow.

My purpose for joining the group is to learn about the community, find resources for parts and mechanics. I don't want to sell, but the wife is making a good argument with every bill that comes in.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to the forum vinnylamp,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I can see you've already found your way to the US Mid West Region forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Enjoy the forums.
