Hello from Manchester
Hi. Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Brendan and I live in Manchester (England). My first Jag was a 1989 XJ40 many years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I have tinkered with cars for over 30 years and at one time even earned a living do it. I currently own a 2002 XJ8 and a 1994 Daimler Six (X300) which I have been rebuilding on a new bodyshell for the last three years - it's nearly finished!
I enjoy these forums as there is always something new to learn, and hopefully I can add some value too.
Cheers

Could just be co-incidence of name and place but are you the same Brendan from Manchester who was on Jag-Lovers many years ago and very kindly lent me a Jaguar coil spring compressor even though we've never met?

Hi Graham and all
Yes I am that same Brendan. That was many years ago when the most important tool in the box wasn't a laptop.
Glad you're still in to Jags. I see you've moved on from the XJ40 also - I kept mine for about 8 years. Still drove beautifully but the bodywork just disintegrated.
I will post some pics of my X300 build and try and write up some of the things I learned doing it over the coming weeks.
Cheers

I had the 2.9 ltr XJ40 and you couldn't even connect a code reader to that one! Similar bodywork issues to you, replacing boot, bonnet and sunroof. Nevertheless I ran it from October 1996 to October 2001 covering 77K when a white van hurtled out of a junction on the Leeds ring road and finished it. Front of the car was wrecked but I got out without a scratch. Van driver was breathalysed and taken away.
A 1996 x300 3.2 Sport replaced it followed by a 2001 XJ8L, a 2001 XK8 Coupe and the current XK8 4.2-S.
I'll keep a lookout for your 1994 Daimler pics. Always liked Daimlers after having a 1974 Vanden Plas. Still the best interior of any car I've ever had.
You should find plenty to interest you here. It's a busy forum with a large membership.
Good to hear from you again. I've never forgotten the help you gave me with the front suspension.
