Default Hello from Miami

Hi Guys

just joined the forum. I am actually helping looking after my Dad's XK8 as he is not very proficient with the internet and I see forums like this as vital to the upkeep of a semi classic like this.

He recently bought a beautiful gold convertible XK8 1997 with 62K miles.

the car drives beautifully, however no service book came included so we are a bit blind as to what has o has not been done.

As a matter of precaution we are changing the chain tensioners, gearbox oil and filter, and diff seals which seem to have a small leak.

Upon inspection, it seems the front shock mounts may need replacing soon.

Also the rear view mirror has the common LCD leak problem so we are speaking to the company that issues replacements for a hundred bucks or so.

Apart from this the car drives beautifully and my dad is enjoying retirement in style, with hair in the air cruises.

Thanks and looking forward to contributing and reading in the future.

Welcome to the forum Dizzly,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

That's a sensible 'to do' list on the XK8. You may want to consider adding a check of the cooling system components to it.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR ( X100 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I know you've already found the the US Lower Atlantic Region forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome.

That would be the MOST sensible "to do list" I have read in a very long time.

Well done.
