Default Hello From Montana

Hi From Western Montana.
I have to confess that I had joined the forum some time ago and have been utilyzing it to answer questions I have had about my 2003 S-Type. I can not tell you how great this forum is or how much it has helped. I, however, have not followed the directions and introduced myself until now.
My S-Type has a 4.2 non-supercharged engine with an automatic transmission. I bought it from an elderly car buff during the Thanksgiving season. Since that time I have put about 40,000 miles on it. It's currently sitting at 184K. The only mod I have done to it is install an Alpine stereo as I could not get the factory radio to function even with the codes. Oh well. The only other issue I've had with it is that the acceleration is flattening out under full throttle. But not all the time. Kind of makes passing an exciting proposition. I will hopefully be able to check codes this week.
At any rate, this is a very nice friendly forum. As I mentioned it has been of great help to me since I joined. Sorry it's taken so long to introduce myself.

Welcome to the forum Sculptor923,

Good to hear you've found useful information here. When you do this, it helps others coming along later with the same issue if you post to the thread about the fix and how easy or difficult it was. All adds to the knowledge.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I expect we'll see some questions from you when you get those codes read!

Graham

Welcome to the forum Sculptor923,

Good to have you with us.
The codes will be the key to your problem.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
