Hello from a new STR owner

Hello!
New to the forum, so here's my introduction!
I'm a relatively new STR owner near Nottingham. She's an '04 model in Black with beige leather and a whole pile of undiagnosed issues I'm currently busy sorting out. I've been a lurker here for a while but thought it was time I piped up!
I've had a few classics before (Mk3 Cortina and a couple of Spitfires, currently also run a '89 Econoline camper), but my modern cars have generally been in the 'banger' category. Always had my eye on the STR and finally they've dropped in price - as has the insurance (or did my age just increase?) - enough so I can afford to buy one. Time will tell if I can afford to run one.
I'm not scared of getting stuck in - done all my own stuff on the camper and my previous classics - but I'm currently somewhat limited in my maintenance facilities, just a small patch of gravel outside my front door, so I may have to hand any big jobs over to the pro's. I do have the advantage of time, as my daily commute is a 5 minute walk, and I can always resort to driving the camper to Tesco's if the Jag's off the road for a few days.
Looking forward to sharing all my issues, (and traffic light grand prix stories...) with you guys :-)

Welcome! *secret handshake* These cars are not all that different than what you have worked on. No rocket scientist degree required. LOL.
Just take some time to browse the STR forum and you will find most answers. If not, just ask. we're a pretty friendly bunch.

Welcome to the forum mrsambem,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
If you do your own repairs and maintenance, Jaguars can be run reasonably economically.
As you've been lurking, you probably already know your way to the tech section but if not, follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.
Watch out for those speed cameras on the ring road!
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
