Default Hello and new XK owner in SoCal

...well, almost.

Hi everyone, a quick hello... with the aggressive pricing on recent lease return vehicles, I believe I am very close to picking up a 2007 XK Convertible in Slate Gray (I think that's what it's called). The car is pretty well equipped as is, but it's quite possible I'll be doing little tweaks here and there.

Been lurking at these forums for a little while and doing what research I could to be sure that the XK would be the right car for me - but if I'm honest, it's not much of a logical decision, is it... as Top Gear once said - "You see it... You want it."

Seems like there are some friendly people and some good information here. Looking forward to meeting and getting together with other SoCal members and contributing what I can.

This car replaces a 2008 Audi A5.

Well, so much for the "almost" owner. Dealer called me mid-day and said "it's ready, come and get it!".

So I got it.

Will take some pictures tomorrow. *Very* happy.

Wow, very nice choice shady! Don't know about the rear seat capacity over the A5, but you'll sure be getting more fresh air in the XK! Consider it - a healthier choice.

Hope to see you around the forums when you're not driving her around!

Very nice and congrats! Whereabouts in SoCal are you located? I am in the San Fernando Valley--don't see all that many XK8/XKR but am seeing more and more of the newer series.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

SeismicGuy, I live in Azusa and work in Universal City.... head up into your neck of the woods on a pretty regular basis - have some friends in Woodland Hills and Oxnard, and take my son R/C racing over in Camarillo about once a month or so.
