Hello from northeast georgia! 1998 jaguar xj8-L owner. ready to start fixing! thanks!
hey there.
recently acquired a 1998 jaguar xj8-L @ 175,000 miles!! not too old of an engine and trans in car from dealer...
i am accustomed to heavy equipment and truck repair. and classic american muscle car repair.
not jaguars!
i am here to learn, and help others once i learn!!!!!!!
about my car problems.....
my car has the rear end whine. very loud. can i rebuild it like any other rear end????
the keyless entry makes the seat go into midget position! why???
the transmission sometimes slips at take off? why????
the headliner is falling.
the cupholder is busted! arent they all????
the 12 volt cigarette lighter does not work.
the leather looks pretty bad.
the steering wheel cruise buttons do no light up in dark. should they?
it doesnt seem to accelerate all the way..when i mash the gas...it doesnt respond like it should. accelerator pedal doesnt seem to have much travel. is this normal?
low coolant light comes on. no matter how full!??
traction control faulty light or something comes on???

Welcome to this friendly forum.
You obviously have a 'mountain' of problems there.
I'd guess most of them will have been covered in the forum for your car
XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
Go there and look at the 'stickies' at the top.
If you don't find an answer try a carefully worded Google search which will usually bring up multiple answers from this forum.
If you're still stuck post your problems but may I suggest just one at a time !!
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum mountainmover,
Follow Steve's link to the X308 section for help and advice. One think you'll want to sort straightway is the 'midget position'. Check for information on memory seats.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
