Hello from the proud new owner of a used Jag
Hello Everyone!
This is the first post I've ever made on any forum.
My previous ride was a rusted out 1990 tan Crown Victoria with a heap of old receipts, text books, chocolate bar wrappers and old work boots slowly filling up the back seat like some cancerous growth. Time for an upgrade to say the least!
I wanted a used luxury car that had some panache but wouldn't break the bank as I am a notorious cheapskate. I found a beautiful 2002 racing green 4.0 S-Type Jag for sale in the Toronto area. 100k kilometres. Shiny but not too shiny to drive hard. In other words perfection!
I flew to Toronto from Saskatchewan where I live, bought the car and took it on an epic 35 hour 2700km journey home through the beautiful winding roads and treacherous hairpin turns of the Canadian Shield north of the Great Lakes, and out onto the high speed straight aways of the Great Plains of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
This Jaguar is an AMAZING driving machine. It looks classy, sticks to the road like glue and takes off like a rocket. I hardly know whether to drag race it or just sit in the back seat and eat Grey Poupon!
Anyway I've had it home for 2 days now and thanks to jaguarforums I have successfully upgraded to a chrome mesh grille, fixed a burnt out headlight, and got some great advice regarding the J-Gate sticky shifter issues, all from this most excellent forum. I thought that I should at least join so I could say thank you all sincerely for your sound help and advice.
sorry for the novel

Welcome to the forum Eric,
Great Intro - to Jaguar ownership for you and to read for me. Epic journeys are what these cars were build for. I've checked the route on the map and it looks a superb drive.
Good to hear you've already found useful information here.
Enjoy the S-Type and the forum.
Graham
