Hello and question about the X-type.
Hello Jaguar forums!
I am new to this website and so far i am enjoying it. I am looking into buying a used 04 Jaguar X-type it has low mileage (for its age) and is a very nice dark red. Before buying i just wanted to ask owners if they like there Jaguar X-type? People say they are good cars (which they are) but if anything goes wrong they are very expensive to repair is this true?
Thanks again!

Hi rolexmike, welcome to the site
This section is primarily for new members to introduce themselves, their car and location with perhaps a little history thrown in. It gives the established regular members a chance to know a little about you and welcome you to the forum.
Please re post your question into the X type section for better results...
Thanks

billb, yes they are good car after 2001 or 2002 (after Ford retooled it). they are spendy to fix but you can do a lot of the work yourself. ex. water pump-45mins under 100.00. Plugs about 45mins 110.00w/ purchase of new intake o-rings (6@15.00 ea.. Brakes about 110.00 per axel versis 500.00. All after market, but be careful ,shop around. You want OEM ,the price quaddruples except for labor@$110.00 per hr. Mine has 117k and my only gripe is the tires only last 28 to 29 k no matter what brand.
