Default Hello from soon-to-be-frozen-again central NYS

Hello, all..

Time for a confession.. I've never owned a Jaguar. My driveway and garages currently house an '82 VW Rabbit Convertible, an '88 Mercedes 560SL, an '89 Volvo 240, a '93 BMW 325i, and a '99 Mercedes ML430. I do most of my own mechanical gruntwork, but am blessed with two master mechanics as friends who help me out when I get in over my head. One of them offered me a great deal on a Jaguar a few weeks ago; he had done a bunch of work on it for someone, but his client decided they'd rather get rid of the car than pay him. I've been told that Jaguar's are difficult to work on and have reliability issues, but I've also always felt that they are among the most beautiful cars ever made, especially going back a few years. In any case, I'm looking forward to learning more about them in these forums, and maybe even taking the plunge eventually.

I found this board while doing a search to see if the fellow I bought my 560SL from on eBay about 8 years ago was ever brought to justice. His name came up here as well as in some newspaper articles. I'd like to exchange pm's with a couple of the other people on this board, but after reading the information for new members I see that I have to have 10 posts credited to me before that option becomes available. That's going to be tough, as I don't currently have much too offer in the way of Jaguar questions or experiences.

If a moderator reads this and would like to contact me, please feel free. If anyone else has had any experiences w/ Mike Barson, drop me a line and tell me your story... my eeeeemale address is musechaserpilot at yahoo dot com.

Best to all...

Barry from Syr, NY.

Welcome to the forum, a Jaguar is harder to catch than a Rabbit.
