Default hello from Sweden

Hiya all

Just bought my second Jag, a 99 S-type V8 as a non runner. I always am after those easy project cars and I was already in the market for a S as a daily driver.
The elderly gentleman I bought it from had driven it for 10 year after it stalled on his driveway. He just bought a Mercedes and at 73 years old he did not want to have all the trouble of getting it towed and fixed. He was after a guy that would give his baby a good home and would take care of all her small issues. I would, I have owned, restored and repaired many car like this one. I have rebuilt Ferraris, Maseratis and other fun cars. Most were resold by my in perfect condition and some are even in car collections now.
The gentleman and me made a deal, paid him a small amount and collected it the weekend after.

Anyway, this is my second Jag. The first one was a fine XJ6 Daimler, owned previously by my father.

I am currently waiting for some parts to get her running again. I can only conclude that that it is just the CPS sensor that is not working. The ECU lacks that signal. Hope I am right. Both locking actuator in the rear doors need some love. Other than that I have found no issues and everything works. This is a fully loaded 4.0, it just lacks the front headlight washers and the power curtains. It is going to be my daily driver. Hope the CPS comes in soon.

About me:

Car nut, working as a warranty manager at a large automotive engine rebuilder. Dutch, but moved to Sweden (awesome country!) in 2014. Small farm, family, dogs, cats, the works and generally enjoying life to the max.

Hope I can gather and share info especially on the S-type. I just love these cars.

Thanks all, cheers

Peter

Hello, Peter,
Congratulations on a deal well made! It certainly sounds like you have the experience to deal with this non-starting car.

Someone will be along soon to direct you to our very active S-type section where you can ask questions if you need to, or just hang out with other owner/drivers like yourself.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
