Hello from Tennessee/Kentucky
Hi everyone,
I inherited my grandfather’s jaguar 2003 S-Type R three years ago. The car has about 55,000 miles on it as he barely drove it. However, he maintained it well and kept it in a garage most of its life.
I thought I would post some of the maintenance I’ve done on it since as that might be helpful to you.
1) Headlights were sagging down – fixed with one screw on each light
2) Headlight bulbs needed replacing – had to remove the front bumper to access the back of the headlight compartment. Fortunately, I had a friend who was car savvy and was able to help me. The hardest part after removing the bumper was to correctly screw in the bulb. There is a sort of puzzle that you must solve inside the threading assembly before you attempt to screw the light bulb in.
3) Oil change – I vaguely remember over time that the jaguar was requiring more and more oil at subsequent oil changes. On January 2022 I got a general inspection and found out that one of the oil lines was slowly leaking.
4) General overall inspection January 2022 – invoice below. It was expensive but the shop was willing to educate me on some items and didn't push me at all. I was happy with what I got.
5) Low brake fluid May 2022 - currently resolving this and that's why I originally came to the forum as I need to learn more about these vehicles.

Hello,
Normally, a Jag with only 55000 miles and garage kept would be in its Prime. However, as you have discovered they do Not like sitting disused! No car does actually, but Jags seem to take particular offense at such inactivity.
Good job getting all these items seen to. You'll not have to be concerned about them for the rest of the life of the car. Which, by the invoice, I'm thinking you have just paid your inheritance tax!
