Hello from Texas!
I recently purchased a 1990 XJS. The original advertisement listed it as a 1993. As I am pretty unfamiliar with Jaguars, I did a little research on the net. I was expecting a 6 cylinder engine under the hood, oops Bonnet....imagine my surprise when i looked under there and found not 6, but 12 cylinders.
To paraphrase someone elses description....it looked like several buckets of automotive parts had been dumped in there and smoothed out with a trowel! That is one FULL engine compartment.!
The car has been sitting up for several years and I can't wait to start working on it. I'm a school teacher and really gonna have to wait until summer break to have a go at it. There are days where I just go over to my shop and just sit and look at it.
I have already been following threads on this forum and have gained quite a bit of helpful knowledge about how to start off and I'm sure I will be posting questions as I go.

Welcome to the forum Bobby Terry,
Not much space around a V12!
You probably have already found your way to the tech section but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xjs-32/ to the XJS section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the US Southwest Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/regional-34/ to find other members in your region.
Good luck with the project and enjoy the forum.

Hello in Texas
Congratulations on your new adventure. I myself have just signed up on this site and have exactly the same car color etc.
If you don't mind I would like to piggy back on your intro.
My wife purchased ours as a "we" project. So we have been considering all of the options out there for this wee beasty. Do you have any direction you are going to go with yours? Is it at the infamous "blown head gasket what do I do now" Stage? Ours was purchased with the 3A cylinder running on water. After pulling the intake manifold etc and digging a lot on the internet we found it was time to just pull the engine and consider our options from there. As of this weekend our Jag has delivered us a 800# baby girl. I believe we are going to try to restore her to original state with some tasteful performance improvements along the way. However, we did and may still consider stuffing a viper v-10 engine in her.?!?!
From what I understand we newbies are going to be in for a long expensive ride.
Cheers!
Nathan
