Default Hello from UK Yorkshire

Just a brief introduction.

I started driving Jaguars in 1992 with my first Jaguar XJ6. I had a young family and this second hand vehicle was wonderful.

In 1998 I bought my second Jaguar XJ6 as the first one had completed 197,000 miles. Both my XJ^'s were manual gearbox and what a difference that makes.

The second XJ6 also completed almost 200,000 miles and then needed some repairs which were more than the value of the vehicle and I then chose to purchase a Jaguar XKR-S.

This is a wonderful vehicle and I am very hapy with it, BUT I want to learn more as it is very technical and I am used to maintaining my old classic sports cars, a 1959 MGA , a 1969 Lotus Europa and a 1976 MG Midget, a 1996 Landrover 90 all of which have minimal electronics.

Now I have an amber 'check engine' light on my dashboard of the XKR-S and I thought it was time to join this Forum.

Welcome to the forum ASW48,

Manual gearboxes are very popular with Jaguar enthusiasts but not with original buyers and have almost disappeared from the line up recently.

You clearly have plenty of previous experience with maintaining your fleet. Assuming your XKR-S is the Final Series, follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. Posting the DTC's is a good place to start with resolving the cause of the MIL illumination.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

This is entirely possible. I am in Switzerland at the moment, but will be returning next Friday for a week or so and can take those pictures and post them. Must remember to bring my camera. :-)

A picture with an Alp or two will do equally well!
