Default Hello from WA

Names David, I live in Olympia WA and I just started a hunt for a 90s Jaguar, 4 door preferable that has already been swapped with a 305/350 or LS engine. Or something that would be a good candidate for a conversion. My mom used to have one and wants one again but doesn't want to deal with the issues she had with her first one. A 95 I believe, had low miles but was unreliable and hack and took a fortune every time it needed to be fixed. And a neighbor has a XJS thats swapped and told my mom all about it and is now really interested in finding one ready to go or a good candidate for the swap. Well I guess thats all, intro done LOL

Welcome.

Good luck with the search.

I am assuming from the spelling of some words that WA is in the US of A, and NOT WA in Australia??

Luv these acronyms, NOT.

Welcome to the forum David,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I'm surprised to hear you had issues with a 1995 Jaguar powertrain. A well maintained X300 is practically bullet proof!

It sounds like you're looking for another X300 (1995 - 1997) or the later X308 (1997 - 2003).
Probably more likely to find a converted X308.

You can visit the US Northwest Region forum by following this link US Northwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello, David,
Your mother is right on about a Chevy engine being "easier" and "more dependable," although some of the die hard purist will be having a stoke just thinking about that.

The thing with a Chevy engine, no matter what it's installed in, any Mercan mechanic worth his beans can work on it and make it run correctly. That can't be said for a Jaguar engine. It's all about familiarity. But it will be HER car and she can have ANY engine in it she wants!

If my car still had the original Jaguar engine when we first saw her she would Never have come to live under this roof. As it is, she and her 350 heart will live here until they die.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome David
Olympia is a beautiful place.
Not sure if youre interested in doing the swap yourself with a damaged car (personally I'm against, but its yours not mine), there's a fellow in Texas with company name Johns Cars who specializes in Jag to chev swaps. I believe he sells kits which you could probably buy to even send with a car to your mechanic of choice.
I have no connection with the company and am simply putting it out there if you didn't know. Good luck.
