Hello From Washington!
Hello everyone!
My name is Lindsay and I live in Washington state.
I recently acquired a 1998 XJ8 for a great deal. I have wanted a Jaguar since I can remember. It is so exciting to finally have one.
Mechanically it is in pretty good shape. However, it could definitely use some help in the looks and smell department. The previous owner let a dog hang out in there for some reason, and also smoked (at least from what I can smell). Dog hair is stuffed in every crevice imaginable.
Anyway, I am a complete novice when it comes to cars in general so I will probably ask a lot of facepalm questions and apologize in advance for that.

Welcome to the forum Lindsay,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Not too difficult to remove the seats to be able to give them and the carpet a thorough clean. Smoking leaves an odour on the headlining which is more difficult to remove. I've found the 'bomb' canisters for freshening the AC can help improve this.
Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northwest Region forum by following this link US Northwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
