Hello from Winnipeg - 89 XJS
Hello: I'm a new member from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I purchased my Canadian-spec '89 XJS Convertible a short while ago out on Vancouver Island (the Canadian west coast) with 48K kilometers on it, original paint, no rust, and a good service history (including new rad / coolant hoses, steering rack, and rear brake calipers / parking brake cables about 2,000 km prior; evidently the previous owner did a lot of preventative maintenance before anything ever failed).
The car hadn't been driven any great distance in several years, the tires were old, and the front brakes were pulsing a bit. I had new tires and front rotors/pads/calipers installed, changed all the fluids, replaced the battery, and drove it the 2,400 km (~ 1,500 miles) home over the course of two and a half long days, and it didn't skip a beat! There are a few little niggling things (stock radio/antenna issue, replacing the fog lamps, etc.) that I intend to look into, but otherwise my plan is to use it as a fair-weather driver and keep it as original as possible.
Looking forward to being a part of what looks to be a wonderful forum for technical advice and sourcing parts.
Cheers,
Ari Hanson
