Default Hello World

Hi Everyone.

I'm a 55 year old Jag fan who has had three rare, unpopular models in the past
An earl 80's LWB Sovereign
An Early 2000's (terrible but cool) x-type
A V8 S type, rare import that ate itself on the M6

I trained as a mechanic believe it or not in a local skoda backstreet garage but now have a boring career in IT.
I love old cars but don't have the tools, cash or workshop to do them justice

My ambition is to one day own an old 70's Daimler coupe and to hell with the running costs or tree huggers.
When you get to this stage in life why not have fun, even on a budget but please remember

An old jag isn't just for Christmas :-)

Welcome to the forums cadwellb,

I see the Daimler Coupe is going to have to wait a little longer as you are considering a diesel X-Type. The coupe was always the one I wanted but had to settle for the four door versions when they were current and never did get round to owing one. Still a superb model but getting very hard to find.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello,
All the 40+ year old gas hogs still operating on the planet probably aren't nearly as big a problem as all the Plastic that ends up in the great Oceanic Gyres.

I wish you success in your search for the Puuurfect Daimler.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks for the welcome and agree on the Daimler.

Back in the late 90's they were going really cheap due to the mass panic about unleaded fuel.
Really wish I'd used my heart rather than my head back then so for me it will always just be a dream and am stuck in the land of s-types, x-types and the odd xj

Don't know if it's allowed as a newbie but here's what I used to have ( sorry about the silly bonnet ornament but cost too much to remove)

Sorry about the bonnet ornament :-)
