Hello from XJ 12C restoration project.
Hi,
Can't believe I have only just found this forum. I have owned my 1976 XJ Coupe for almost 5 years, it is a restoration project that keeps getting held up by a lack of a garage, the wet British weather, and the fact that the banks won't lend any money at the moment so I can build the garage.
Anyway, I have started stripping the car down and have removed the engine and gearbox, and removed most of the interior. I don't expect this to be a quick restoration, I fully expect to still be at it in 10 years time, but that's the beauty of a restoration project, I can pick it up and put it down as I like.
I will post some pics of the car and the restoration as it moves along when the forum limits have been lifted, I have a short video of me starting the car when I first got it. The previous owner couldn't get it to run, but I managed to get it going in about 20 mins.
Looking forward to getting involved in the forum,
JV.

Welcome to the forum JV,
The V12 Coupe was always one of the ones I wanted but never owned. Rare in it's day at around 2200 produced in both Jaguar and Daimler specification, it will be even more so now. Looking forward to seeing the 'as is' and following restoration as it progresses.
Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III section for help, advice and information. We have several members with Series II V12 saloons and a few with Coupes.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forum.
