Hi, I really hope some one can help me. I have a 1989 XJ6 and just replace the fuel filter today, now my car won't start. The only thing it does is make a clicking sound. I am at a loss. Any help would be awesome. Thanks everyone.
They likely allowed the battery to drain by leaving the bonnet or door open. Minor, and easily recharged, but it may be an indicator you battery is gettong weak and in need of replacement.Won't hurt to have a "load" test on the battery.
Start with the battery recharge and test. It's free. If it were the fuel pump the car would turn over, just not start. The clicking sound points elsewhere.
