Default Hey!! 1st time Jag owner and love it!

Hi, my name is Mindy. I bought a 99 XJ8 V8 about a month ago after I sold my jeep that I owned for 12 years. I’ve never driven a car this big so it’s taken some getting used to. I actually hit a trashcan on the side of the highway about a week after I got it, and jacked my passenger side mirror. I was able to glue the housing back on, but I need to get the actual mirror still. Anyway, I just have some questions about my car and your forum seems to have a lot of information. Thanks!

welcome to the forum - enjoy!! You can either just reply or quote - preference is up to you. Yes, you can edit posts for a brief period (you should see an edit button next to the Quote button on the bottom right corner of the reply section), after that any edit will need to be done by a moderator or admin

Hello, Mindy,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar XK8!!
Jags are like any cat; they can tell if you like them or not and will behave accordingly. You and your kitty will get on Just Fine!

I’m posting it from my iPhone and I don’t have a reply button and I don’t have an edit button. I’ll try from my computer. Thank you
oh, I just had an edit button for this comment but that’s the first time I’ve seen it

It certainly is easier on a PC and with an AdBlocker you can lose a lot of the advertising pop ups and links.

The default view on a smartphone is this mobile view:

If you go to settings arrowed above, it opens this dialogue box:

Selecting View Full Site gives the same view as on a PC:

If you prefer mobile view, you can go back to it from the settings arrowed above.

I figured it out. Thank you so much! No one more stupid question I keep getting an ad that wants me to activate my account with a big green start button but it wants me to put in my credit card number, but charge me nothing. Is that legit or should I stay away from it I promise the rest of my questions will be related to my car. 😬

Oh I love it!! I am kind of known as the crazy cat girl. I’ve got four inside cats and two outside cats and no one giant wildcat. 😏

The forum is FREE. You will NEVER be asked to pay OR enter credit card details.

Can you post a screenshot of that?

I had the same model a few years ago. The LWB was very rare in England as most of them were build LHD for the US market.

The only downside is black ones need washing twice as often as any other colour.
