hey there everyone!
Hi all,
I'm Michael from Melbourne, Australia.
Got my first Jag in December '13 as a sight unseen eBay purchase - 1994 x300 XJ6 3.2
Turns out it (surprise surprise) needs a bit more work than the seller suggested including what could be a knackered diff.
Either way it's a lovely car and hoping to get it up to standard! I'm a bit of a mechanical moron so excuse me if I tap your collective brains!
Cheers, Michael

Hi there Michael; greetings and welcome aboard from a fellow Aussie ...
Suggest you drop by the Aus/NZ regional section ... we are your typical knockabout friendly lot and tend to use the model-specific forums here for our technical issues ... but use the Aus/NZ section to say "Hi" and swap more general stories and experience. Like most Aussies and Kiwis, we tend toward first name use - but certainly not mandatory - and as in any public forum, never broadcast full names, addresses, nor VINs - many use Private Message facility on forum.
I hail from the Coffs Coast area of NSW and have made good contacts and friendships with other Jag owners around about, but also from SA to QLD - nothing formal - just sharing a common interest. Many fellow Victorians around you and XJ6 owners here ... as well as the full range of beautiful classics that built the marque ... you name it. Our section can be quiet at times, but you will get a warm welcome.
So, welcome along Michael. Start a "Hello" thread in the Aus/NZ section so we get to know a bit about you and your Jaguar. You will join a merry band of us here - many of whom do their own spanner twirling - and there is a great willingness to share info. Post some pics. You have me intrigued already by your experience of buying from an owner who passed on some problems (yeah ... big surprise ... but also a worthwhile DIY challenge).
If it's true that you learn by doing (and I believe that) then owning a Jaguar, and bringing it up to first class condition, can be very rewarding.
Best wishes,
Ken
