Default Hi

I'm new to the forums, and a master at stating the obvious.

I should be taking delivery of an'02 X-Type pretty soon. I'm an import guy who digs neglected platforms and I needed a sedan for the family and an X-Type just seemed like a proper decision.

I registered for this forum because it seems to have the most usable content and thus far has provided me solutions and insight on a car I do not yet have in my possession.

The X-Types are very attractive cars. I was looking at one for my son, who's in college, but I bought him a Saab instead. Now I'm trying to talk my wife into getting an X-type and ditching her Mazda. I looked at a couple on car lots over the last few weeks and now I really want one. It would look great next to my XK8.

Welcome! I had an 02 X-Type and loved the car, regret selling it, but ran out of garage stalls.

It will be very well suited for Boston winters. It is not a hill climber but the AWD system works best under your expected driving conditions.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The AWD is definitely a plus in the winters and the styling is very attractive. I'll definitely be looking into other Jags if the x-type delivers as expected.

welcome to the forum cool-j, (flashback to the 80's) do your research on the x-types and find the right year that best suits your budget and maintenance expectations. Drop a new thread in when you finally pick one up, we'd all like to see and congratulate ya!

welcome to the site cool jag, good to have you here with us
X type is a great ride and the 2.5 Sport was what I had on an 02 plate. Stunning car and the AWD is just awesome.
Just bear in mind that there were a few small teething problems on the 02's which were worked out generally by the 03/04 years......Small things / nothing too major and pretty much all covered in the X type FAQ quick links.......Check your T/C fluids - don't believe in sealed for life.
Upgraded to FFA....Hope you enjoy the site
