Hi All - Just acquired my first Jag.

Hi all,
After undergoing a mid-life crisis, I decided I needed something a bit sporty before I'm too old to enjoy it. I looked at all the obvious things (TTs, Z3/4s, S2000, SLK), but eventually decided that a combination of speed and a bit of prestige (that I don't think any of that list really provide) was in order. So...I've recently bought a 2004 XKR Coupe and have to say that so far, I'm really pleased with it.
I did look at the softtop, but think that with the roof up, the line doesn't look as nice (just my opinion) and to be honest, with our climate, the extra cost is hard to justify for the amount of time you can have the top down.
I've been a regular user of other forums (VW) in the past, so I'll be on here looking for help no doubt. I still have my knackered old VW Passat (275K and still going strong), so the Jag is very much a toy.

Welcome Rick ... and greetings from fellow enthusiasts in Australia ...
Many of us share your passion for the XK8/XKR ... in my case, the empty space left by our recently departed Series1 E-Type is yearning for an XKR to fill. Great resources throughout the forum so ... dive in and enjoy!
Best wishes,![Icon Toast](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_toast.gif)
