Default Hi from Chicago

Hi All,

What can I say about myself that hasn't already been said about the epic heroes of old? Wait, did I say heroes? My wife says dullard is the correct term for me. Anyways, living here just outside the Windy City, just past the gun shots and the Chicago Public School system (we wanted our kids to be able to read). My current ride is a Toyota MR2 Spyder. Before that it was a Volkswagen Sportwagen TDI. It wasn't exciting but any stretch but I did enjoy 45mph on the highway. I'm going to miss that but diesel sedans appear dead here in the USA. Never had a Jag before and am looking for good car for commuting. I'm considering the S-Type and X-Type.

Hey Chicago,
Welcome to the Forum lots of information and some of the most helpful, and knowledgeable people I've ever known. So good luck hunting for the perfect Jag! I know they will offer lots of help. Good Luck.

I was born, and raised just a little south of you. Kankakee to be exact. I now reside in Arkansas for similar reasons you are outside the city. It's a much safer place to raise kids. I left up there about 30 years ago, and every visit back, reminds me why I left.

Jack

Welcome to the forums HauntedMyst,

Both models would be suitable but consider the maintenance question. If you are a DIY'er then all the guidance is available here. If you prefer to have work done by an independent, it can be expensive with Jaguars.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum and this one https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome. Children that can read are a good thing... I would be a proponent of the S-type, and I am sure some will be in favor of the X-type. Drive a few good examples of both before you make up your mind.
