Default Hi everyone - new member from UK (Dorset)

Hi everyone - been a Jag owner/lover for years now & after another car change I thought I'd join the community!

I've just bought a brand new Kyanite Blue XK-R Coupe which I'm due to collect in just under 2 weeks.

I said I was a Jag lover - so my previous cars (newest first) have been:

'60 Jaguar XJ-3.0 Portfolio (SWB) - Just traded in for the XK-R!
'10 Jaguar XK-R 5.0 Coupe (Kyanite Blue)
'08 Jaguar XK-R 4.2 Coupe (Midnight Black)
'04 Jaguar XK-R Convertible (Midnight Black)
'01 Jaguar XK-R Coupe (Saphire Blue)
'97 Jaguar XK-8 Coupe (Antigua Blue)

Quite a history as you can see - I did have a stint in a BMW X5 4.4 & a 5.0L Supercharged Range Rover Sport but returned to the brand both times!

I had my '60 XJ for just over a year now - but having had a few recurring problems (all fixed under warranty) I decided I should never have left my '10 XK-R in Kyanite which I must say was the best car I've ever owned!

Can't wait to pick 'Jenny the Jag' up & looking forward to some 'enthusiastic' drives on some of Dorset's B-Roads in the not too distant future.

Hopefully with such a varied history I will be able to contribute to some of the posts - I should say I've averaged between 30-40K miles per annum in each car so they have all had to work hard!

Thanks for the interesting introduction and welcome to this very friendly and helpful forum.
You live in a lovely part of England and have chosen just the right time of year to enjoy those back lanes.

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Just one question, why did you change from a string of XKR's to an XJ Saloon?

Best wishes for the new XKR

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

@Translator: I went for the XJ for the main reason that have 3 young kids (now 6, 4 & 17Mths) - also I felt it was time for a change of scenery so to speak!

I missed the XK-R like mad though & bought a new Q7 for the Wife in March....so the car seats are out + the XK-R is back!! I also had some recurring issues with the XJ which made me fall out of love with it - I do fairly high mileage in my cars each year & eventually lost my patience I suppose!

I'm picking up the new car next Saturday with my excited 4YR old boy! My daughter came with me on an overnight 'Road-trip' to pick up the XJ last year; so I can't make a difference now he's old enough!
