Smile Hi everyone... New to the site.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Just picked up my first Jag today. 2002 X-Type 3.0 with an auto. Got it from an older lady who's husband passed away for 1500.00 dollars. Has been sitting in her garage for several years. She only drove it to the store twice a month to take it out and run her. No rust on the under body but the typical wear on the paint and leather that any ten year old vehicle has. I do have a few concerns with it though..... ABS light is on showing codes for R.F. speed sensor and the tranny seems slightly slow to engage in drive. Seems to take a extra second or two from what I am used to. Reverse engages right away when selected though. Is this typical for a Jag auto? Not too worried about it since it shifts smoothly through all gears and it only would be driven about 3 months out of the year due to me being at sea all the time. Thanks for any inputs!

Welcome to the forum,

Good deal for a low use example. The issues may result from this minimal mileage or the vehicle may not have been serviced on a time elapsed basis.

Check the X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section for advice on the ABS fault and transmission performance.

Jaguars are sensitive to battery condition. If low or discharged, all kinds of errors can display. You'll have to arrange for regular running or keep it on a maintenance charger whilst you're at sea.

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

You should get on well with Thermo. He also has glow in the dark feet and an X Type.
