HI Folks
Hi folks, just wanted to post a note to introduce myself. I own a XK8 and my wife owns an X-Type. I had my first ride in a Jag in 1965. A friend borrowed his mothers XKE (fairly new, don’t know the year) and we tooled around town half the night. Now this was in a small town in the Ozarks and most folks had never seen a Jag, much less driven one on the unbelievably crooked roads in that area. We had a blast!
So, Jaguars became my dream cars, but I did not own one until 2007 when I bought my wife’s X-Type. Her little Saturn had started to need more and more repair and she was tired of it so I bought her a car. She was out of town at the time and when she found out that I had bought her a car on the phone, she was not pleased. She said to “take it back” and the only car that she would accept sight unseen was a Jaguar with a Leaper!
Well luckily, I had bought the X-Type and she fell in love with it. She will not even let me upgrade it to a XJ! It is a tough car and out corners my XK!
I bought my XK when I retired the first time. Took three months to find the model/year/color/ mileage, etc. but has certainly been worth it.
We are both retired now and trying to adjust to retirement. Although tooling around the central Texas hill country in our Jaguars is helping!
