Hello, out there! Just going to (somewhat) briefly introduce myself--
I live in Western Michigan, and although I've admired Jaguars all my life, I've yet to own one! My previous cars (and, yes, feel free to scoff, mock, and generally poke fun)![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
1985 Pontiac Parisienne (My first car, a real boat, by I think of it fondly.)
1990 Dodge Daytona ES, 3.0L w/Auto Trans. (IMO this car embodied the worst that both Chrysler and Mitsubishi had to offer at the time)
1983 Toyota Celica Supra, Straight Six w/5-Speed Manual Trans. (The one car I really regret selling, but as a student at the time I didn't have the time and money to dedicate the upkeep that it needed as a 20 year old car.)
1992 Honda Civic DX 1.5L w/5-Speed Manual Trans. (In and of itself, and for my purposes, this was the perfect daily driver. Mechanically speaking, nearly bulletproof, and had plenty of room in back. As it aged and began to rust I didn't feel it made sense to keep putting money into maintaing it. Another big factor was the whole stigma that comes with driving an old Honda. You get tired of teenagers revving their engine at stop lights asking to race, and that sort of thing.)
2002 Saturn SC1 w/Auto Trans. (A lapse in judgement landed me this car, which I almost immediatly began to loath. I aim to get rid of it soon! Dull, uncomfortable, and poor handling, I've been banging my head against the wall ever since I brought it home.)
With that line-up, I can hardly lay claim to being a discerning automotive afficionado, but my family has long owned various VW's, so had plenty of time in "good" cars, as well.
I'm always on the look out for Jags, but have yet to take the plunge and buy one. My most likely candidate would be the X-Type, since there's a manual transmission available, but I'm not sure if it's a wise move right now. So I'm hoping to read up on the forums here to become a little more educated.
