Hi, I'm new to this Forum
Hi, I'm from Stroud, England. I have a 2001 red xk8 convertible. Its in great condition except the roof/hood only lowers in warm weather! I guess the top-of-windscreen hydraulics need bleeding as the central top hook is sluggish when the hood lowers and again when it returns to the closed (up) position again. Any ideas from you experienced xk8 convertible owners please?
How do you bleed the roof/hood hydraulics to overcome this problem? There's nothing wrong with the hood motor, and the system is full of correct hydraulic fluid. Its my first Jaguar and I've owned it one month! I love it! Regards from new member "stroudxk8owner".

Welcome to the forum,
Congrats on your new 2001 XK8 convertible. Being a few miles north of Gloucestershire, I rely on a tin top to avoid freezing.
You'll find plenty of fellow convertible hydraulics sufferers with info on fixes in the XK8/XKR 1996 - 2006 section. There's a few known weaknesses on the 4.0 litre XK8's such as V8 tensioners. Worth checking these in the FAQ's if you're not already familiar with them.
Remember to add vehicle details to your signature line so everyone can see which model and year you have.
